You’ve seen the pictures below of the home that reveals itself as you come along the drive. The version that is being built is one of 4 concepts we conceived for that client.
The concept here is to have a long, slender home where everything takes advantage of the southern views and southern light. The northern corridor was filled with constant northern light.
The site has some good elevation change and also shallow bedrock. So we anchored the west end in the natural stone. The east end cantilevered high above the ground. Enough that we extended the great room fireplace down to the ground to craft an outdoor room with an outdoor fireplace under the great room.
The reveal on this house was the floating great room.
